From News Center (Text by / Chen Ting, Bai Chunlan, and Wu Liping, Engineering Training Center (School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship); Photo by / Liu Jing, Engineering Training Center (School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship)) To thoroughly implement the national strategy on promoting employment for college graduates and enhance students' career planning awareness and employability, LZPU actively organized and participated in the 3rd National College Student Career Planning Competition (University Level). Following meticulous preparation in the early stage and multiple rounds of selection, 20 contestants stood out and won university-level Gold Awards. On December 12, the Gold Award Ranking Round was successfully held at the College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park on the Guantang Campus. After intense competition, seven outstanding contestants (four from the Growth Track and three from the Employment Track) were selected to represent the university in the online regional semifinals of the Guangxi Division.
Careful Organization to Elevate Competition Quality
After the conclusion of the university-level finals of the ranking round, a targeted enhancement program was promptly launched. The university allocated high-quality resources and invited experienced industry experts to form a project guidance team, providing contestants with two weeks of systematic coaching. The guidance covered multiple aspects, including refining career planning logic, polishing presentation materials, and precisely optimizing job application documents, with the aim of enhancing the professionalism and depth of the projects and helping contestants progress from "meeting standards" to "achieving excellence".
Scientific Competition Design Highlighting Career Development Concepts
The competition featured two tracks—Growth and Employment—and adopted a "thematic presentation + comprehensive defense" model. Contestants in the Growth Track were required to present their career development plans within seven minutes, while those in the Employment Track delivered a six-minute presentation on job preparation and responded to scenario-based questions. Based on a scientific scoring system, the judging panel conducted comprehensive assessments from multiple dimensions, including alignment between career goals and economic and social development, effectiveness of practical actions, job competency, and development potential. This fully reflected the competition's educational philosophy of "promoting learning and employment through competition".
The contestants' career plans demonstrated solid professional understanding and clear logical thinking, reflecting sound career choices and values, exploration of career goals, well-defined growth planning, and alignment with employment competencies. After the competition, representatives of the judging panel provided insightful comments, highly affirming the contestants' outstanding performance. They noted that the students demonstrated clear planning logic and practical goal setting, while also offering constructive suggestions regarding the depth of career awareness, the coherence of personal narratives, the presentation of various award materials, self-assessment, and continuous improvement.
The successful hosting of this competition fully demonstrates LZPU's strong commitment to employment-oriented education and showcases its students' positive spirit and solid career planning capabilities, laying a firm foundation for cultivating high-quality talents who meet the needs of economic and social development.
