From News Center (Text and Photo by Huang Zhiwei, School of General Education) On July 4, LZPU held a departure ceremony for the its delegation attending the 14th Guangxi Student Sports Games at the gymnasium on Shewan Campus. Qiu Fuming, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of LZPU, attended the ceremony. Heads of the Student Affairs Office (Department) of the Party Committee and the School of General Education, as well as all coaches and athletes also participated in the ceremony.

In his mobilization speech, Qiu Fuming, on behalf of LZPU's Party and government leadership team, extended cordial greetings to the athletes who trained hard and prepared actively, and expressed sincere gratitude to the coaches and all staff for their hard work. He emphasized that the holding of the 14th Guangxi Student Sports Games is a full display of the competitive level and sports spirit of Chinese youth in the new era, and it is also a comprehensive test of LZPU's sports work. In the upcoming games, athletes and coaches of each sports team should go all out, unite as one, face challenges together, and show their best competitiveness. At the same time, we must abide by sports ethics, respect opponents and referees, work hard, show our level, style and spirit in the games, win glory for the university, and demonstrate the good sports literacy and mental outlook of LZPU students.

At the departure ceremony, Qin Junbin, a member of the Automotive Engineering Technology Class 2 of 2024, delivered a speech as an athlete representative. He promised to welcome the games with youthful enthusiasm and tenacious style, abide by sports ethics and competition rules, carry forward the Olympic spirit of "faster, higher, stronger and more united", devote himself to the competition with true sportsmanship, and let youth shine on the field.

It is understood that the Guangxi Student Sports Games is the highest-level comprehensive sports event for students in the autonomous region. LZPU will send eight sports teams to participate, including men's and women's basketball teams, men's football team, track and field team, badminton team, table tennis team, women's volleyball team, and cheerleading team. To achieve good results on the highest stage of student sports competition in the autonomous region, the sports teams of various events quickly entered a state of intense and semi-closed training. LZPU leaders and the School of General Education were deeply concerned about the teachers and students preparing for the competition. They visited various training venues multiple times to express their sincere care and support. The hardware facilities, sports equipment, learning and accommodation arrangements of each team and athlete have also received full support from all relevant departments and schools of the university. The practical care and support from all sides has greatly boosted the morale of all coaches and athletes.

All the training has led to this moment. LZPU athletes are making their final sprint with focus, determination, and unwavering perseverance. Let's look forward to the LZPU athletes striving for excellence, achieving glory for the university, and celebrating the vibrance of youth at the 14th Guangxi Student Sports Games.
